PURPOSE

To promote meaningful, two-way communication and ensure access to Bridgeport Schools District’s (BSD) programs, services, and activities for students, parents, and families, all at no cost. Recognizing limited English proficient parents or families and individual with disabilities (e.g., those who are deaf and blind) who may not communicate in detail valuable information necessary for their children educational success.

The language access services will maintain an environment that is culturally responsive, provides systemic family engagement, and aligns specifically with the needs of BSD’s students, parents, and families. This guide aims to help both parents and staff collaborate effectively, ensuring meaningful parental involvement in students' educational journey. Therefore, reinforcing the partnership between home and school for student success.
