Washington State Law requires that each child attending school be adequately immunized according to a schedule determined by the Washington State Board of Health. Your child will need certain vaccines to attend daycare or school, according to Washington State Law. In 2019, the Washington State Legislature passed a bill that removes the personal and philosophical option to exempt children from the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine required for school and child care entry. The bill was signed into law by Gov. Jay Inslee on May 10, 2019. Based on the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), all children must receive the required doses they are eligible for prior to starting school. All children/students entering child care/preschool and Kindergarten through 12th grades must get vaccinated against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (WAC 246-105-030). Routine schedule for DTaP vaccine is at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 15-18 months, and 4-6 years of age.

Schools in Washington state are required to report their students' immunization status by November 1st of each school year. The State Board of Health recently changed the school and child care immunization policy to require medically verified immunization records. These rules also apply to all public and private schools licensed in the State of Washington. The Bridgeport School District uses the School Module to report all immunes to the Department of Health.
